How should I care for my Thorlo socks?
Care Recommendations
- Machine wash in lukewarm or cool water on a regular or delicate cycle. Wash with like colours only.
- Avoid chlorinated bleach or detergents containing chlorinated bleaching agents. These cause the fibres to break down and destroy elasticity.
- Launder inside out. This fluffs the terry padding for maximum cushioning and keeps the outside of your Thorlo socks lint-free.
- Use liquid fabric softener in the rinse cycle. This is one of the most important steps you can take to extend the life of your socks. Fabric softener enhances the wicking properties of the fibres, lubricates both the fibres and elastic to keep them flexible, and helps maintain sizing, softness, stretch, and durability.
- Tumble dry on permanent press or low heat - do not line dry. Line drying can cause premature elastic breakdown through hydrolysis. High dryer temperatures risk shrinkage and spandex damage. The tumbling action restores fibre loft for full impact protection.
- Make sure socks are completely dry before storing. Putting socks away damp can cause spandex breakdown from residual moisture in the elastic.
- Wear with shoes. Wearing Thorlo socks without footwear will cause them to wear out faster.
